Build your shorthand pack.
Choose the categories you want and add them to your Normal.dotm as formatted AutoCorrect entries. Your file stays in your browser.
1. Source file
Upload the Normal.dotm you currently use. The builder modifies its internal glossary document and preserves the rest of the template package.
Conflict handling
Existing formatted AutoCorrect entries are identified by their AutoCorrect name. Other Normal.dotm customisations remain in the template.
2. Choose categories
The master reference contains 2,000 entries. Select only what suits your writing.
Why formatted AutoCorrect?
Word distinguishes between plain-text AutoCorrect entries and formatted AutoCorrect entries. Plain-text entries are stored in language-specific .ACL files; formatted AutoCorrect entries are stored in the active Normal.dotm. The Digital Shorthand builder deliberately uses the second mechanism because this project is designed around Word.
OOXML defines the glossary document inside the Word package, and its document-part type speller is specifically defined as an AutoCorrect entry. The builder uses that structure to add the shorthand entries locally in your browser.
